ADRESS
Our two premises in Via Oberdan are located next to each other, in a truly strategic point of the city: next to the university area a few steps from the two Towers in a delightful side street of Via Rizzoli, the road that leads to Piazza Maggiore. If you arrive in the city by train and walk towards the center it is very likely that you will pass in front of us and you will notice us immediately!
For us, opening our premises in Bologna represented a point of arrival in the land of cured meats and good living, a bit like taking a culinary master’s degree or playing the Champions League of cured meats!
In one of our premises you can admire the ceilings full of cured meats and fall in love with our Taglieroni full of cheeses, cold cuts, fruit and vegetables that you will see pass between our tables. Or be enchanted by the rows of schiacciate filled with fresh and genuine ingredients such as the highly requested one with artisanal mortadella with truffle and cream of DOP gorgonzola with truffle, a real treat!
The atmosphere is always very cheerful and young, tourists, students and Bolognese Doc occupy our recycled tables all different from each other purchased in flea markets around Italy, with seats made from old fruit crates. We believe in giving a second life to objects and our vintage style takes our guests on a dive back into the past.
Going down to the room below that we like to call “boschetto” (if you happen to enter it you will understand why) you enter a quieter and more private world, where the atmosphere is more intimate and relaxed. The shape and size of the place are also suitable for hosting events and private parties and in fact we are the favorite place for graduation parties, we do tons of them and it is always great fun. In total we can host about 80 people inside and 20 outside with our tables along the street.
The other place is also a feast for the eyes and the palate with the famous artisanal Porchetta del Chianti displayed in a large window overlooking the street and from which you can also order take-away and enjoy one of our specialties while walking through the streets of the city. A porchetta that is always fresh, made according to the traditional recipe, cooked in a wood oven and cut exclusively with a knife. It can be enjoyed alone or by choosing one of our combinations such as the one with burrata and pistachio pesto or the one with ricotta cream, baked potatoes and cooked must.
And again… a gigantic library of liqueurs that takes up an entire wall will certainly attract your attention. It is an ancient piece of furniture that we have restored and repainted. The liqueurs have bright colours illuminated by LED lights that reflect from below (a real treat for Instagram lovers) and particular flavours such as Rosolio or Absinthe or Gentian, Saffron and even chocolate liqueur for the most greedy! Don’t forget the wide range of wines also by the glass that ranges from Emilia to Tuscany and the rest of Italy or the inevitable Spritz that will accompany your aperitifs.
You can find us open every day with continuous hours, even just for a sandwich on the go, for a glass of wine or simply for a chat. The prices are really competitive because ours is a “democratic and transversal” place that can welcome everyone!
Finally, we remind you that here too, as in all our places, it is possible to do the shopping and take home wines, preserves and all products tasted like an old but modern “grocery store”.
