For us, opening a restaurant in Bologna represented a bit of a point of arrival: in the land of cured meats and good living La Prosciutteria di Firenze could not miss it. Here, as in all the other places, you will find our Tuscan specialties together with those of the Emilia-Romagna delicatessen, the same goes for the wines.

We are located in a truly strategic point: next to the university area a few steps from the two towers in a delightful side street of Via Rizzoli, the road that leads to Piazza Maggiore. If you arrive in the city by train and are walking towards the center it is very likely that you will pass in front of us and you will notice us immediately! The restaurant has three corner windows overlooking the street and high wooden ceilings full of hams and cutting boards of cold cuts.

The interiors are developed on two floors and as always are rustic but refined. On the first floor, a large counter welcomes customers up to the external window which acts as a take-out point for those who want to take a stuffed cake from the street without even going inside.

The environment is always very cheerful and young: tourists, students and “Bolognese Doc” occupy our “recovery” tables which are all different, the seats made with old fruit crates and in the middle of the room a high table can be shared among strangers, so to do friendship becomes very easy. Going down to the other floor, you enter a more peaceful and reserved world, made up of antique prints, hunting pictures, dogs and animals that make the atmosphere more intimate and relaxed. The shape and size of the restaurant are also suitable for hosting events and private parties and surely we are the favorite place for graduation parties, we do a lot of them and it’s always great fun. In total, we can accommodate about 80 people inside and 20 outside with our tables along the street.

What can you taste at La Prosciutteria di Firenze in that of Bologna?
Obviously the best of delicatessen, from Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, with kilometer cutting boards, stuffed flatbreads and then carpaccio, salads, fondues, some hot dishes, the famous wood-fired Porchetta of Chianti you can also take it from the window and then the Prosciutto di Parma 24 months and many more!

Do not forget the wide selection of wines also by the glass that ranges from Emilia to Tuscany to the rest of Italy! We were obviously open every day for lunch, even just for a quick sandwich, for a glass of wine or simply for a chat time. The prices are really competitive because La Prosciutteria is a “democratic and transversal” place that can accommodate everyone!

Finally, we remind you that here as well as in all our vintage shops it is possible to do shopping and take away wines, preserves and all products tasted like an old but modern food “shop”.
