Landing in this neighborhood, in this part of Bologna is a point of arrival for us, we had been dreaming about it for a long time and finally we managed to set up home right there, right where we have fun!
The place is more than small, we would define it as intimate, with about 25 seats inside and as many outside under the spectacular portico of Pratello. You can stay outside drinking and eating even in winter…we have installed heating lamps!
The formula is always the same, the best sandwiches in Bologna, the most spectacular wine in Emilia, the best cutting boards in Italy, the coolest setting in the world (yes, I know…we’re modest!) In addition to the classic proposals of sandwiches, cutting boards, fondues, some hot dishes, salads, carpaccios from La Prosciutteria, in this place we wanted to focus in particular on our warhorse, the real Tuscan porchetta cooked in a wood oven that always arrives fresh from the Chianti area and that you can taste, eat, devour “hot” until late at night even with the take-away formula from the window. Forget McDrive, here we go for MacPork!
Singer Emidio Clementi praised this historic neighborhood like this: «Street of slaves and whores. Of pimps and chicken thieves. Of rat eaters. Of cats too, obviously. Dark origins. Suburbia. Suburbia even after, once incorporated into the city. Leaning against the walls. Terrified of change. Almost countryside and almost city. Refuge of gamblers, experts in French scams, priests, horny men, alcoholics, rat hunters, spies, transvestites. Perennial hunger. Kingdom of the precarious. Indolence. Over the centuries.»
A bit Bologna, a bit Berlin, a bit Amsterdam but also Bogota, a village within the city where everyone knows each other and lives the neighborhood in an exciting social experiment. We are sure that you too will love La Prosciutteria di Firenze, right in Pratello!
Finally, we remind you that here, as in all our premises, it is possible to do your shopping and take home wines, preserves and all the products tasted like an old but modern “grocery store”.
We don’t call them “customers,” but welcome guests, and everyone is welcome in here: from the high-ranking notary to the penniless student; from the straight to the gay; from the carnivore to the vegan to the celiac; from the Italian to the foreigner we welcome everyone–even the Pisans!
